On Tuesday we have a fair to promote our exhibition to our peers, we decided to create a collaborative press release for the show. Wanting to keep the work and general show a bit of a mystery we decided to create a nonsensical and playful press release that gave suggestions of our concept and possible materials that may be included in the work. We all wrote a short piece of writing about the show separately and then then cut them all up and copied them all together, giving a very DIY feel. we were influenced by DADA attitude and the art collective BANK who challenged exhibition promotion and curation. Their somewhat obnoxious attitude to the art establishments is shown in their corrected press release 'FAX- Backs', for us we wanted to promote our show in an honest and modest way that was playful and left people guessing. I think now is a good time to be very experimental with how we promote shows and how we put them on because
its a safe environment for experimentation, it gives us new understandings of how exhibitions can be put together.
